Bleeding photos off the page is attractive, gives the illusion of movement on or off the page, and is what all the “cool kids” are doing these days. Just know the design rules:
-
Only bleed one element per page (e.g. a photo on the left page and the background color in the sidebar on the right page)
-
When bleeding a photo, don’t let it go off two edges, like the top and the side
-
Never bleed a team/group photo or mug shots
-
Full page bleeds require a VERY large file so that the picture does not become grainy. Use at least a 10 mega pixel camera
