“B is for Borders” – 4 Tips on Using Borders Properly

"B is for..."Doctors without Borders = good; Yearbooks without Borders = bad.

  • Using a 1 pt. border around photos gives your spread a clean look
  • Consider using a thicker border (5-6 pt.) around a sidebar to set it off from the rest of the copy
  • Don’t change the colors of the borders–be consistent and have it make sense with your theme
  • Use drop shadows behind borders sparingly, if at all
